Tsunami Diary
I write fiction but sometimes events conspire to create a storyline I couldn't have imagined. The day after Christmas in 2004, Don and I were in Khao Lak, Thailand, having breakfast on the terrace of our hotel when the wave slammed ashore. Months later I sat down, collected my thoughts and photos, and wrote about the experience. I have never publicised the story, but it is well surfed. Nearly three years on, if you type "tsunami diary" into Google, it usually appears in the top three. As I write this on 14 September 2007, it's number one out of 1.66 million results.
